image Kitchen Hacks – Freezing fruits and veggies

Sometimes I feel I live under a lonely stone. This specifically happens when I either find something on the internet or somebody makes a casual comment about something I struggle with and in my head a lightbulb goes on. It’s that “AHA moment” thing. Right after the light goes on my head also goes: how come I have been doing this the hard way for so many years!!  So I will put all kitchen hacks here. Especially the easy obvious ones. If I ever forget one, I can just check back! This one has changed my morning ritual.

I really like a smoothie in the morning. Even better when made, at least in part, with frozen ingredients. For the longest time I have been that person who needed to hack away at a block of frozen berries/bananas/spinach before being able to start blending.

Then, in a cooking class, the chef made a casual comment about first freezing the products individually on a flat surface lined with greaseproof paper before putting them in a bag. That way they do not freeze together into one big clump. AHA! Tried it. Life improved. .
